My Work
I’m an Alberta author and accountant by day who never expected to write a children’s book. That changed when my husband and I adopted Lapa, a three-legged cat from my home country, Ukraine. Her incredible journey inspired my book, Will Three-Legged Lapa Find Her Home? A True Story — a heartwarming story for kids about love, compassion, and perseverance.
The idea came to life in a vet clinic waiting room, where another pet owner heard Lapa’s story and said, “That would make a wonderful children’s book about a cat!” That moment opened the door to sharing an inspiring true story that helps kids understand kindness and determination.

My niece, Vika Belotcercovskaya, lives in Ukraine and has a remarkable love for animals — even the smallest ones! Every day, she cares for homeless cats and dogs, providing food, shelter, and veterinary help, always carrying kibble in her purse. She’s helped countless pets find their forever homes through her compassion and dedication.
